The great debt crash of 2008 caused unemployment to be quite bad even into April 2009.
EI Claims for March 2009 were up, which was not surprising given we were in the middle of the Debt Implosion starting in 2008.
Food prices up 7.9% in Canada in March 2009, which really did hurt. Inflation hurts.
Unemployment in March 2009, was at a high 8.0% , and at the time I was unemployed as well. Things got better but only after a long wait.
