Looks like 2008 was a busy year. I got laid off, and there was an election going on too? Finally my bank account was under attack too? No wonder I was so stressed back then.
I finally got my first sign today, for our Conservative member of parliament (if anyone asks, this one is mine), my wife has asked for a Liberal one, and I have been promised a Green Party sign also from a Green Party supporter (for my eldest daughter in theory). We shall see whether I can pull off this “coup de signe” for Nepean/Carleton.
Fraud Update
Still no update from TD about the fraud on my bank account last week. Hopefully I will be given my money back, or given a reason why my money is not being given back, let us hope there is a resolution soon.
My Election Prediction
So far my prediction of a Liberal minority, may not happen. Mr. Dion seems to have found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, the only interesting thing to watch now is if the NDP and Green party can somehow draw enough votes off the Liberals to cause a complete and total collapse, which will be interesting to watch for.
No Plans for Severance Yet
My wife and I continue to procrastinate on what we will be doing with the money from my severance. It isn’t actually procrastinating however, if I don’t find a job quickly, it will then become a survival plan, or a very drastic budgeting exercise. When I do find a job, we can then figure out what to do, but we also don’t have any investing for the money going into our RRSP or the LIRA as well, guess I better start thinking about that a bit too.
Is this a joke? They recount a lot, and then they have a run off it is actually a tie.
If two candidates get the same number of votes what happens?
