Just as a quick Off Topic jump, spring is also a time to take care of you. It’s all fine to be financially secure or ready, but if you aren’t in good shape then what does it matter.
- Make an appointment to see your Doctor for a check-up. When was the last time you did one of those? I do one every year, just because I am old enough now, that I think I need it.
- When was the last time you went to the Dentist? If you have insurance, you have no excuse to make sure you get to keep whatever teeth you have left (speaking from experience here).
- See your optometrist, my eyes keep getting worse and worse these years, and I really do need to see my optometrist every year. Glaring at a computer screen is not good for your eyes.
- Do the same for your kids as well, make sure their health is taken care of too.
Being healthy physically is just as, if not more, important than financial well being. Without your health you are nothing, right? If all of this is covered by your health insurance, you don’t have an excuse (unless there are rules against seeing your doctor too often).
Don’t have health insurance? Maybe it’s time to think about getting some, even if you live in Canada, so you can have catastrophic health problem coverage, and dental and optometric coverage too. Shop around and see, but living without health insurance is a ticking time bomb, unless you are filthy rich, but even then, it might make some sense.
