Remember it is important with any plan to create REALISTIC milestones, that are ACHIEVABLE (but also a little bit of a stretch, you don’t want to make it too easy either).
Also remember that a PLAN is a LIVING THING. All plans need to be revisited to:
- Figure out how well you are doing compared to the plan
- If you are behind, how are you going to catch up
- If you are ahead, good for you
- Does the plan need to be “tweeked” because you know your roof will need replacing, or your car will need replacing? Plans can be tweeked, just remember to be mature about this, you know what you can and can’t do financially.
- Is the plan working? If so, give yourself a treat of some kind (nothing extravagant, but something that means something to you).
I must admit I am a lousy planner, but I am a great TWEAKER, so my initial plans usually stink but I can adjust it as the plan goes on.
